Mascara
Avery loves to put on lipstick. Everyday when I am getting ready she has to be right beside me getting ready. When I am putting on my makeup she sits besides me and I give her some old lipstick. She got a hold of my mascara without me seeing it. She mistakenly thought it was lipstick and decided to put it on her face. But when she looked in the mirror she was terrified of what she saw. She did not like the mascara on her face. The mascara happened to be waterproof, so it took some time of scrubbing before it came off. She still loves lipstick:)

Catch Up
For the past two months much has happened to the family: I'm getting bigger, there is going to be another boy in the family, Easter, trips and of course Avery. Avery is the center of lives. She will be turning two in about three weeks. I can't believe it! Time is flying by (I just wish I could speed through this pregnancy):) Avery said her first prayer this last week. We were so proud of her. We understood bless grandpa, grandma and Jesus and then Amen. She now will break out in prayer when we are shopping, when we are reading, when we are playing, pretty much whenever she feels inspired. Last night she decided to bless something else. "Bless the cars." I am glad to know that she is thinking about our car safety.

Nap
Today I was so tired that I had to try to take a nap. Of course, there is Avery who wants to play, eat and play some more. I was on the sofa closing my eyes and Avery kept coming up to me and giving me kisses on the cheek. She asked me several times, "Are you okay?" She is not used to mom trying to take a nap during the middle of the day. It wasn't successful, but I loved her cute kisses:)

Playgroup
Avery was so excited to have her little friends over today. She ran to the door and greeted them. But something was different with Avery today. She wasn't quite sure if she wanted to share all of her toys with others. She would give them a toy and then want it back. I don't know if I like the words - no, no, no. She did say, "Sawee" when she wasn't sharing. But when her friends left she decided to give them all a hug and kiss and wave good-bye.

Bedtime
Avery has always been such a good girl when it has come to bedtime. She goes to sleep right away. Now it is a different story. We have our routine: bath, drink, scriptures, prayer, brush the teeth and song. Right after we sing her a song we put her into bed and she is out. Now, after the song she has many things she would like to say - want cheese, want play, want drink, want bath, want book, want nana (banana) & the list continues until she says every word she knows. We think it is endearing that she wants to spend more time with us:)

Hugs and Kisses
Today at church we were sitting behind a little boy that is three weeks younger than Avery. This little boy has the cutest, dark curls on his head. If you know anything about Avery, she loves hair. During sacrament she would try to feel his hair and wrap her little fingers around his curls. She was also trying to give him hugs and kisses. Now, I know Avery thought she was being such a nice girl but this little boy thought otherwise. Tears were shed in reaction to her loving nature. I hope she always will give hugs.

Our First Tornado in Washington
My neighbor called me today to warn us that a we were in the path of a Tornado. Now living in Iowa we had a number of tornado warnings that would go off in the middle of the night, but Washington? Therefore, I was very skeptical. My neighbor asked if I would go across the street and make sure that her dog was in the garage. She continued to say that if there are dark clouds outside "don't leave the house." Hello, we live Washington (there are dark clouds everyday). But this was the second tornado Washington has ever encountered. The news crews covered the story all day. Luckily, there was no damage to the home and neighborhood. Avery was safe and sound in her home:)

Avery's Time Out, "Sawee"
Avery is our little angel but at times she can get frustrated and bites. When she does this we put her in time out and count to ten. Last night Avery opened her mouth about to bite but instead of going through with the act, she went to her time out corner and counted to ten and came to me saying, "Sawee." How can anyone resist her?
